The NTU Renegades fell to the Stirling Clansmen in their last game before the holiday break. They stand at 0-3 with five games left in the regular season.
A close first half and a competitive third quarter kept the Renegades within striking distance but late game mistakes led to a 34-20 score that seems more one sided than the majority of the game was.

Sunday’s game between the NTU Renegades and Durham Saints went back and forth into the final quarter but the Renegades ultimately fell short 28-23. The close fought match with last season’s national semifinalist serves as a learning opportunity as the Renegades continue their season in the premiership.

The NTU Renegades couldn’t pull off the clean sweep against the University of Nottingham Students. Playing for the fourth time in the 2015-2016 season and the third time since late February, the Renegades fell to 3-1 against the Students this year.

Despite a quick score within the first few minutes, the NTU Renegades fell to the Swansea Titans in the National Final of Division 1A. Final score, 21-16. While the Renegades will still be promoted to the premiership in the 2016-2017 season, the finale leaves a sour taste for the team that’s had one of its most successful seasons in team history. It’s been said that men are only supposed to cry at their wedding, the birth of their children, and at funerals. Today is an exception. Tears of joy rolled down the faces of the NTU Renegades as they celebrated on the pitch in Glasgow after their 13-9 victory. Two scores and two forced turnovers in the final three minutes created a dramatic finish to the regional final and also earned the Renegades the right to play in the premiership in the 2016-2017 season.

With a chance to advance to the regional finals at stake, the Nottingham Trent University Renegades and the University of Nottingham Students came in on missions. Living up to the hype, the game was within one touchdown from wire to wire. When the final whistle blew and the sidelines erupted, the Renegades were on top 12-6.

For the second game in a row the NTU Renegades had to perform a last second stand on defence to close out a game. This week the Renegades stopped Leeds Beckett Carnegie’s last second attempt that began with 0:01 on the clock in a nail biting finish. They clinched a 27-21 victory and advance to the next round of the playoffs.

The NTU Renegades finished the regular season 7-1. They are divisional champions, are the number two seed in the coming playoffs, and are guaranteed at least one home game in those playoffs. But there’s one record that’s just as, if not more, important 9-0.
